Twilight Irony

Through AMC Movie Watcher, Ralph was able to get us some tickets to the Grand re-opening of the Majestic in downtown Kansas City.  He got us tickets to Twilight for two reasons.  The main one was that James Bond was sold out and the second that it was a Vampire movie and he loves those.  I on the other hand do not like vampire movies and didn't have any desire to see this movie.

Now, here comes the irony part.  He was completely bored because it was a definite Chick Flick!  I believe I even heard the word boring once.  I liked the movie.  A lot!  Surprised me!  Not sure if I will read the books, but did enjoy the movie.  I have had mixed opinions on whether or not to read them, but since I don't have time to read as it is, I probably won't read it/them/whatever.

I had a good time with the Hubby and was glad we got to be the first ones to sit in this beautiful new theatre with leather seats.  Absolutely beautiful.

Goooooaaaaaalllllll!

She Shoots!

She Scores!

Times 3!!!!

Our darling little girl decided after an entire season of Soccer that the very last game was going to be her breakout moment and boy did she ever.  Who was this child running after the ball with the tenacity of a hungry lion?  Pushing the boys on the opposite team as if she were trying to exit a burning building.  And scoring as if, might I say, she were the offspring of Beckham. (Don't tell me you don't know who that is!) Maybe I shouldn't go that far, but she was "IN" the game for the entire game.

Grass stained knees that made me weep with joy.  So excited when she scored her first goal that I forgot who I was, where I was.  Yelling as loud as I could, making me one of the "soccer moms".  I didn't care!  I couldn't care!  It was a moment when we realized what metal she was made of.

Did I mention she got the MVP award?  Pride.  Proud.  Joy.  Pride.  Happiness.  Disbelief.   And YES...more PRIDE!

Time to breathe...we experienced a modern day miracle of which I was privileged to see with my own eyes.

Talk of the Town

I have been hearing about Miss California for several days now and those opinions are strong and clear.  WE SUPPORT YOUR STAND ON WHAT IS A MARRIAGE!

I am immensely disappointed that Perez Hilton would ask such a question in a Beauty Pageant and then berate her on public television for that same opinion that obviously differed from his.  He went on to keep berating her using fowl language to describe his injustice with her.

I can have no respect for someone that does not allow another to have their opinion.  If he didn't want the truth, why did he ask?

I admire her beyond belief.  Do we stand up for what we believe...at all costs.  She lost the Pageant, but in the grand scheme of things, she has won more than he (Perez Hilton) will ever have.  She has respect and honor.

I don't hate gay people.  I know some people that are and have good feelings towards them.  I just don't agree with their lifestyle choice.  And...my opinion is that it is a lifestyle choice.

Birthday Bash

Miss Boo had a Scooby Doo Party complete with a scavenger hunt for mystery gifts to put in their "loot" bags.  They made Scooby bracelets and played pin the collar on Scooby.  Pizza and cake to top it all off.  She had a great time and even got that pink princess bike she has been wanting for at least a year.

My Not So Little Girl

Miss Boo was born growling.  We called her our little bear for a while.  What was once cute has grown into a sound of annoyance from her.  She will growl at anyone she doesn't know that asks her something she is not going to answer.

I was in labor 17 hours with 2 1/2 hours of pushing to get this not so little girl into this world.  She was perfectly comfortable in her warm condo and wasn't going to be rushed.  And, that is how she is now in her life.  Not going to be rushed or pushed into anything.  A quality that will take her far in life and hopefully will keep her parents from sleepless nights of wondering what she is doing.  She will never be talked into all the stuff the "lemmings" fall prey to.

When she is happy her eyes shine and the whole world is happy.
I am so proud of how smart she is and her desire to learn.

She has a funny sense of humor or maybe we just find her amusing.

She plays with her brother and makes him laugh. She is very protective of him so I don't worry about him with her. After all she has her own gang!

I am so grateful to have this little girl in our home.

Happy Birthday Miss Boo!

Today it is our little girl's birthday.  Where did the time go?  I can still remember giving birth to that 6 mth old looking baby girl!  Ha Ha!  She was 9 lb 8 oz.  How's that for a first baby?  We took her home in 3-6 month clothes.  I spent the next two years staring at her beautiful face with those puffy cheeks.

We love her so much and truly couldn't imagine our lives without her in it.  In fact, we have a hard time imaging a time when it wasn't ROSEY!

Where have we been?

Where to start?  It has been a super busy week.  It started out with Brian and Leilani visiting on their way to Florida.  Thanks Brian for filling up our "hole".   Saved us a lot of work.  You always have a place to stay when you are in the midwest.
Then Wednesday night my sister Denise came to visit.  We had way too much fun shopping!  Thanks!
Miss Boo woke up in a great mood and it lasted most of the day.
The Dude became a super hero.  (thanks Aunt Denise)
Easter was fun and relaxing!  So glad we have children to watch discover the joy of the holidays.  And, YES the Easter Bunny does give underwear to good little boys.
Miss Boo threw around some footballs.  Go Jayhawks!

We had a really great week, but we are tired and ready for some "Quiet Time".  Or, maybe that is just Mommy!

At the end of it all, I give thanks to my Savior for this Easter Day that I and all of you were given as a gift from Him.

Birthday Bash

Chugga Chugga!  The Dude could only wait until 1 to eat his cake.

His dream come true.  A spiderman scooter (gooter) from Mommy & Papa
And of course "magic" books from Grandma and Grandpa.

He decided to have his special day in the most special place for a 3 year old.
We had a great time following him around with his cup of tokens.  Thank you to Leilani and Brian for getting up at 5:30 a.m. in the morning to be here in time for his party.

The Dude says thank you to his Grandmas in Canada that gave him the "Awesome" Spiderman card and the money for his college fund.

His "dister" gave him a Cars clock to which he said, "I always wanted THIS"!

After a day of partying he crashed hard.

Billy Idol

My little boy is 3 years old tomorrow.  Where does the time go?  I can still remember when they dunked him over the curtain for me to see him and I thought, "Hey!  That looks like Billy Idol".  He was a Star in my eyes from that moment and he brings so much joy into our home.

And...to think he was a surprise!  What a wonderful gift!  Heavenly Father knew we needed this little boy in our home.

He is  funny, sweet, kind generous, silly, onery, adorable, precious and so, so loved.

He makes up words by adding "ing".  To him it makes it a much better word for what he is experiencing or wants to do.

My favorite right now is "Bathtubbing".   He will come running in and say he wants to go bathtubbing.  Makes it sound like so much fun.

His birthday supper will consist of pizza at his favorite place on earth.  Chuck E. Cheese.   We took him and his sister last night to Disney on Ice.  On our way back to the car, riding on his Daddy's shoulders, he announced:  "I had a great time!".  His favorite part was Lilo and Stitch, which is funny because he has never seen that movie.

This morning I got to sleep in and when I came down to the kitchen he asked me if I had a good sleep.  What a thoughtful little boy.  So grateful to have him.
Besides, with a talent like this, how could we ever survive without him?

We love you Dude!

E=MC2

The speed of light can be explained in the E=MC2 theory. but what i want to know is, what is the speed of darkness?

That is a great question.  I have always secretly wanted to be one of those people that comes up with stuff like this.
Incredibly interesting and thought provoking.

At least to me it is.
